Autumn’s Delight: Pear-Cinnamon Crumble Cake


  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (for topping)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, and milk.
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and arrange the pear slices on top.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and chopped walnuts. Sprinkle this mixture over the pears.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.
